Job summaryThe job involves a high degree of diplomacy, tact and sensitivity as access to documents of a highly confidential nature will be required. Continual liaison with both internal and external organisations is required as the post-holder will act as the first point of contact for all forms of communication. They are therefore required:To provide efficient and comprehensive medical secretarial and administration support within a specialty and across the service unit.To perform all allocated clerical tasks required to meet the needs of the service.To undergo training as necessary to meet the needs of new developments within the service.To undergo training as a loggist and participate in the Trust rota where service needs allow.Main duties of the jobTo assist in the provision of an efficient and responsive service required to support consultants and their medical team, to assist in the smooth running, participation and efficient organization of the daily routine duties across all pathology departments. To ensure the provision of a patient pathway, which is receptive to the needs of the patient and responsive to Trust requirements. Facilitate the organization of clinics in line with demand and support Consultants through diary management. Provide cover for senior medical secretary as required.
