Job summaryThe theatre complex at Croydon Health Services spans, Croydon Elective Centre (CEC), Emergency Surgical Centre (ESC) and the Purley Elective Centre (PEC) based at Purley War Memorial Hospital.Following the first COVID wave, CHS reviewed how surgery was delivered at the main hospital site. It was decided to spilt both emergency and elective operating to reduce the risk of patients contracting COVID post procedure. The CEC, a hospital within a hospital, was created supports the elective recovery programme, ensuring that patients being treated in the centre are COVID protected. ESC is in place to support emergency flows, pull patients from The Emergency Department (ED), houses the Ambulatory Surgical Hub (ASH), receiving surgical GP referrals to bypass ED.The PEC was created in summer 2021 to increase the overall number of minor procedures taking place under local anaesthetic.The Patient Pathway Team Leader will provide senior support and expert knowledge to the team of receptionists, supervisors and patient pathway coordinator within the Point of Delivery (POD) 12 team. The team leader will oversee all administrative and clerical process to enable a high quality, effective, patient focused service to be delivered. The post holder will ensure that standard operating procedures are followed, ensuring achievement of all performance targets.
