Job summaryWe are looking for a motivated experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist with either rheumatology experience or transferable clinical skills.You will be joining a friendly supportive Rheumatology Service based at the Queens Hospital Burton. We provide a full range of care from the assessment to treatment of all types of rheumatic disease including disorder of the joints, muscles, bones and tendons such as arthritis, connective tissue disease and degenerative joint disease.We have a strong work ethic, supported by links with the radiology, neurophysiology, pathology and immunology departments to aid our diagnostic service.We see patients with:Inflammatory arthritisConnective tissue diseaseMetabolic bone disease and osteoporosisOsteoarthritis & soft tissue problemsVasculitisThe Rheumatology Department at Queens Hospital Burton is a busy outpatient area offering a wide range of treatment and follow up care to people with rheumatological conditions.Main duties of the jobWe would like to appoint a Nurse Specialist to join our Nursing Team. You will be required to assess, advice and counsel patients who require treatment with disease-modifying anti-rheumatic drugs (including biological therapies).You will be expected to deal with all abnormal blood results in relation to monitoring patients on disease-modifying anti-rheumatic drugs using the rheumatology database and other Trust IT systems. You will be required to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with patients, carers and other health care professionals.We offer an induction programme and support from members of the Rheumatology Team.
