Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, innovative and enthusiastic specialist pharmacist to work in critical care. The pharmacist will have the unique opportunity to work at a critical care unit with 24 bed at Northwick Park Hospital. The post holder will be working closely with the critical care pharmacy team at Northwick Park Hospital. The patient group is diverse taking adult medical and surgical patients who require multi-organ support; often these patients are from specialties such as St Marks Hospital gastroenterology, intestinal failure, ENT, Vascular and Head & Neck departments. We pride ourselves on a multidisciplinary approach to individual patient care. Main duties of the job We are looking for someone who has extensive clinical pharmacy experience, critical care experience and the ability to work with a multidisciplinary team. You will need to have excellent communication, clinical and negotiation skills, as well as experience providing training and education to a range of healthcare professionals and patients. Person Specification Education & Qualifications Essential Masters Degree in Pharmacy (MPharm) Member of the General Pharmaceutical Council Diploma in Pharmacy Practice or equivalent Mandatory CPD to maintain fitness to practice Desirable Independent or supplementary Prescriber MSc in a relevant subject Member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society Knowledge & Experience Essential Excellent knowledge and practice of clinical pharmacy in the acute care setting Minimum of four years post registration experience relevant to Hospital Pharmacy with assessed competencies or equivalent qualifications and experience in critical care Experience in providing a clinical pharmacy service to critically ill patients Desirable Ability to use research findings to develop clinical services /guidelines Experience of working within a range of clinical specialities Skills, abilities and attributes Essential Excellent time management and prioritisation skills Highly developed communication skills Good interpersonal skills.
