We are looking for a dedicated Compeer Befriending and Hub Support Officer to play a key role in our befriending programme and community hub. In this role, you will support Compeer, our in-house befriending programme, by ensuring that volunteers and participants build and maintain strong, supportive relationships. You will also contribute to the running of our Finchley Hub, fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment where people can connect, participate in activities, and access practical support. This post is fixed term, initially for 3 months with a possible extension and will be working up to 30.5 hours across the week, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday with additional time on the Monday at our Finchley hub. The core hub hours will be 10.30am to 3.30pm Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, and then the remaining hours outside of this will be for Compeer. Process and log volunteer reports. Attend allocations meetings to discuss and process new referrals. Interview and train new Compeer volunteers. Facilitate matches between volunteers and service users. Hub Support Create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for hub members. Support with the daily lunch service. Co-facilitate groups and community activities. Collect payments from members upon arrival. Provide on-the-spot practical support to members as needed.
