    • Job summary An Exciting opportunity has arisen for a band 6 nurse to join our dynamic team on ward 513 at the QEHB, it is an acute medical ward. Being an acute medicine ward, we have a fast turn over, meaning the successful candidate will need to have great leadership skills, be able to work under pressure & be able to work autonomously. The post holder will act as a role model for junior team members in the delivery of a high standard of nursing practice. They will deputise for the ward manager & will support the leadership and management of the department with particular emphasis on clinical standards. They will have responsibility for managing the ward which will include understanding finances, the deployment, delegation and supervision of all grades of staff and be visible & approachable for patients, staff & visitors. You will be expected to be a good role model to junior staff and be highly motivated to implement high standards of patient focused care, you will demonstrate a high level of professionalism, be punctual and be a good team player. You will Participate in the overall running and management of the ward including completing audits, rota's, ensuring systems are updated appropriately along with answering complaints and implementing new policies and procedures. You will provide clinical leadership ensuring a high standard of evidence based individualised nursing whilst promoting a safe clinical environment for all patients, visitors and staff You will be expected to partake in the supervision & mentorship of pre/post registration students & junior staff.
