Job summary This is an exciting opportunity to begin working with the liver team in the tertiary division of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. Working within the tertiary division will offer you opportunities to make a real difference to patients and staff lives. The Liver service is one of the biggest in the world with international and national recognition for the work that we do. We are looking for a highly motivated individual that fits in with the team ethos of getting the job done. The specialities are going through a time of change so flexibility and a positive attitude is essential to being successful in this role. The role will be patient facing and dealing with cancer patients and often requires conversations about their operation dates so can be challenging but also very rewarding. Main duties of the job The role will cover responsibilities from both a liver surgery and liver medicine perspective with the addition of working with liver transplantation services too. The main duties of this role will be to liaise with and manage patients along their treatment journey. The role involves a lot of patient contact as well as the backing work that goes with booking a patient in to a theatre, this includes liaising with pre-screening, ITU/EPOC, management and leadership teams and working across multiple in-house IT systems to ensure the patient is ready for surgery.
