Job summary To lead the training of all staff in Radiology by developing, implementing and auditing practice in line with departmental and national guidelines and protocols. The role will primarily entail overseeing and planning education, delivering training and education for registered health care professionals, radiology assistants and the admin & clerical team within Radiology. The post holder will, as part of the wider Head of Departments (HoDs) team, provide various aspects of HR and day to day management. The post holder will be responsible for undertaking training needs analysis and representing radiology at the Heads of Education meeting and all other relevant and necessary meetings/ groups across the Trust and regionally. Main duties of the job The Practice Educator Lead will be responsible for providing clinical support and undertaking the 1:1 development meetings of all trainees undertaking courses in radiology. This will involve constant monitoring of academic and clinical progress in line with the duration of the academic programmes undertaken. will be responsible for supporting nominated trainee supervisors to create formative action plans to address practice issues whilst also assisting with student summative assessments. The post holder will work closely with the Imaging Manager, RPS Lead, Operational Lead Radiographer, modality Leads and the wider HoDs teams to identify continuing professional development (CPD) requirements for all radiology staff. To ensure appropriate training plans are in place for individuals concerned. The Practice Educators Lead will ultimately be responsible for the monitoring and assessment of each training plan to ensure CPD targets are delivered in line with service needs.
