Grade UE08- £48,350- £59,421 CAHSS- School of Social and Political Science Contract type: Full-time 35 hour per week Open-ended: permanent Number of posts: 3 The Opportunity: You will contribute to teaching and supervision in British Politics at pre-honours, honours and postgraduate level. To present and develop an emerging research profile in British Politics and, where appropriate, relevant subfields with demonstrable potential for excellence and to contribute to the activities of relevant research groups within Politics and International Relations and the wider School of Social and Political Science. We welcome applicants with expertise in any area of Scottish, British or UK politics, broadly understood. While not limited to the following, welcomed areas would include: research on political behaviour and elections/parties; parliaments and other political institutions; and representation and participation. This post is open ended, available from September 2024. This post is advertised as full-time (35 hours per week), however, we are open to considering part-time or flexible working patterns. We are also open to considering requests for hybrid working (on a non-contractual basis) that combines a mix of remote and regular on-campus working. Your skills and attributes for success: -A PhD in Politics, a relevant social science discipline or relevant interdisciplinary area; -Evidence of attainments in teaching, appropriate to career stage, also indicative of commitment to, and potential for, excellence in teaching, including ability to develop courses/programmes in Politics, and specifically British Politics, at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and online and distance learning, and to promote outstanding student experience; -Evidence of investigative research and publication activities (including published research in peer-reviewed journals), appropriate to career stage, meeting standards of international excellence in terms of quality, significance and rigour; -Evidence of a clear commitment to Subject Area or School-level administrative duties appropriate to career stage.
