Job summaryWe are looking for an enthusiastic and creative person to work as an Activity Coordinator on Crystal House, a 5 bedded inpatient unit for young people with Learning Disabilities. The young people we work with have a range of needs and experiences, and benefit from personalised and group based activity programmes.The Activity Coordinator will support the Occupational Therapy team and wider multidisciplinary team in organising and facilitating activities that meet the therapeutic goals of the young people admitted to the unit.The successful applicant may have contact with patients or service users. To support service users to develop daily living skill and assist them in managing their self-care in line with their care plan.4. To escort service users to therapeutic and treatment programmes as required.5. To safeguard the health, safety and welfare of service users at all times.6. To practice within a personal recovery framework which supports social inclusion and self-management.7. To monitor service users mental state, assess risk and manage it effectively, in line with risk policies and local guidelines.8. To provide care for service users who may be distressed or present with challenging behaviour.9. To have the ability to work within an environment that may expose individuals to verbal and physical abuse.10. To be sensitive to the safeguarding needs of children and adults, and knowledgeable about potential indicators of abuse or neglect and how to respond.11. To assist in the assessment process with the support of an Occupational Therapist (OT).12. To plan, implement and review a range of individual and group activities, under the supervision and direction of an OT.13.
