Job summaryThis is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to join our department as a Band 2 Assistant Technical Officer. We are seeking a forward thinking and highly motivated Assistant Technical Officer to deliver a high quality, safe and effective pharmacy service.The post holder will join a team of specialist and generalist clinical pharmacists, medicines optimisation technicians and pharmacy assistants in delivering high quality, safe and effective care to patients and service users. They will participate effectively in the daily dispensary duties and delivery of services including labelling and dispensing medicines including controlled drugs, dealing with ward stock, SOP development and assisting with supply chain management of Pharmaceuticals. This will include ordering, invoicing, distribution, delivery and general management of stock control of medicines used at RNOH.The post holder must have a minimum of 4 GCSE's, Grade 4 -9 or A to c, two of which should be in Mathematics and English. (Certificates will be required). This is a full time post (37.5 hours)for an Assistant Technical Officer to play an integral part of the Pharmacy team.Main duties of the jobWe are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated, forward thinking and pro-active Assistant Technical Officer to join our progressive team at RNOH. There is extensive scope for the successful applicant to develop on both a personal and professional level through exposure to all departmental activities and the opportunity for further roles in the future.The post holder will be required to possess good communication and interpersonal skills, be able to work effectively and methodically in busy environments both independently and within a team. Good computer skills are essential.
