Job summaryWe are looking for a well-motivated, enthusiastic individual to join our team as an Associate Practitioner. The successful candidate will work supporting Scientific Staff in the preparation and analysis of samples in the Medical Biochemistry, Immunology and Toxicology Department.The position is primarily based in the Toxicology Laboratory with the post holder supporting the routine analytical Toxicology service which offers analysis of Drugs of Abuse along with an extensive Therapeutic Drug Monitoring in patient samples the area also hosts WEDINOS service which supports harm reduction through the analysis and reporting of trends for substances of abuse.There a number of Associate Practitioners within the wider Biochemistry and Immunology sections and the position may involve rotation to provide a wide range of knowledge and training which will enable the wider department to provide a sustainable service.The department actively encourages participation in CPD to develop skills that will assist you in the pursuit of your career ambitions and generally is willing to support appropriate study arrangements/leave including participation in HCPC Certificate of Competence tutorials.Main duties of the jobThe main duties of an Associate practitioner are:To contribute to providing a professional clinical laboratory service by working in the Medical Biochemistry Immunology and Toxicology and undertaking duties to support Scientific Staff in the preparation and analysis of samples of biological samples.
