Job summaryThis is an exciting opportunity to work as part of the new expanded Liaison and Diversion Service. The posts will be based in Middlewich custody suite but with the expectation to be flexible and cover the custody suites based in Runcorn and Chester if required.This post will increase the capacity of the existing L&D team and will be working closely with the current staff.This role will include providing high quality assessments for people who are in the criminal justice system. The service will be delivered to peoples who present with any vulnerability including but not limited to; mental health, physical health, learning disability, head injury, unemployment, housing, educational needs etc.The successful applicant must hold a professional qualification.The successful applicants must be experienced in risk assessment, highly motivated and someone who is looking for a new challenge and have the skills to make a difference.Due to the nature of the work this post will be subject to police vetting.Travel between criminal justice settings in Cheshire may be required.Main duties of the job1. Working in a Health and Justice Service in a Cheshire custody suite responsible for offering high quality clinical service to patients and their families.2. Assess patient's individual care needs, agree, and refer on to appropriate agency.3. Responsible for clinical and caseload supervision of other team members where identified.4. Liaising with multiple criminal justice services and other external partners.5. Identify, assess, and refer people of all ages with a wide range of vulnerabilities when they are in contact with the justice system.6. Responsible for participating in the setting of quality standards, including the auditing, monitoring, and reviewing of practice in line with current clinical guidance practice and policy.7. Complete and contribute, where appropriate to robust risk assessments and risk management plans. Deliver and promote positive risk taking, where appropriate, to improve quality of life and maximise occupational performance/independence.8. Maintain an effective reporting system by observing and reporting verbally and in writing on service users' presentation and progress.9. Utilise agreed outcome measures to review the effectiveness of process, as part of Liaison and Diversion Service.10.
