This is an exciting opportunity to join Sunderland City Council and be part of a dedicated and committed Low Carbon team working across the organisation, and across the city, to deliver against ambitious targets.andnbsp; andnbsp;With a city-wide Low Carbon Framework adopted in December 2020, and a City Council Low Carbon Action Plan which was refreshed in July 2022, we are working hard to make a difference across each of our seven strategic priority areas.andnbsp; Sunderland is proud to be recognised as an A list City through CDP and has held this recognition for the last three years, and we are keen to build on the progress we have made to date.
The Carbon Neutral Data and Intelligence Officer role is key to the ongoing development of our Low Carbon agenda andndash; within the team, the City Council and more widely with partners across the city.andnbsp; The successful candidate will ensure we have a detailed understanding of our emissions and that this is integrated into everything that we do as a team andndash; ensuring we can communicate this clearly, building knowledge and informing our engagement activity as well as helping to ensure key project and programme decisions taken by the Council, and increasingly collectively as a city, are based on insight from our data and good practice.
The Carbon Neutral Data and Intelligence Officer postholder will bring together key data sets for the Council and the city, using a mix of specialist knowledge and expertise in relation to data and excellent attention to detail, alongside a commitment to low carbon and the ability to lead complex project management activity across a range of areas.
