Job summaryBand 3 Health Care Support Worker with the Integrated Children's Community Nursing ServiceAn great opportunity has arisen to join our established team of qualified nurses and Health Care Support Workers, caring for children and young people with complex health needs and / or learning disabilities, within Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan. We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, motivated health care support worker to join the innovative and expanding Integrated Children's Community Nursing Service.With part time contracts starting at 20 hours and annualised hours, this post offers flexible working opportunities to meet the needs of the service.Future planning towards a Band 4 development programme is underway. We also encourage established staff with relevant Level 3 NVQ to apply for Level 4 HeCert.Main duties of the jobThe team currently provides a continuing health care nursing service both by day and night to children with very complex and additional care needs including children with tracheostomies and children requiring long term home ventilation. The care is currently provided at the child's homes, Special Schools and mainstream schools / nurseries and clinic.Future plans for our own ICCNS Respite Centre are under discussion.As a health care support worker you will work in partnership with families, carers and other members of the multidisciplinary/multi-agency team to ensure that children in the community receive the care they need.This post will offer the successful candidate an excellent opportunity to gain experience in the community and be part of a developing, innovative service. This post will also form part of a dedicated team for a toddler who has a tracheostomy and is ventilator dependent, and also a toddler who requires airway management of his tracheostomy.
