Job summaryAs part of an interdisciplinary Pain management Team the post holder will be involved in developing, implementing and evaluating seamless specialist service. Supporting patients to self manage their persistent pain and improve their quality of life using a range of pain management strategies including medication optimisation. As a nursing expert the post holder will demonstrate a high level of expertise within the Pain Management field, providing advice, education and support to staff, patients their families and carers.Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover the cost of. Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service are able to present a valid DBS certificate instead of requiring a new check.Main duties of the jobWorking as an autonomous practitioner the post holder will provide specialist assessment and pain management support on an individual and group programme basis. The post holder will contribute / lead the on-going development of clinical practice, standards of care within the service including the development of policies, procedures, protocols and guidelines. They will undertake service developments in collaboration with multidisciplinary colleagues. The post holder is accountable for their safe, effective clinical practice and working as part of a defined team and supporting team performance, ensuring efficient and effective use of physical and human resources.
