Job summaryCommunity Children's Nurse Band 6 - 37.5 Hours Per Week.Following internal promotions and progression, we are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for experienced enthusiastic and passionate children's nurses. You will be able to demonstrate experience in nursing children and young people with a variety of medical conditions, including those with complex and palliative physical health needs. If you share our passion for excellence, then we would love to speak to you.Main duties of the jobYou will work autonomously managing a caseload of children and young people assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating their nursing care. Your activities will be varied, including, but not limited to delivering clinical interventions, training parents, carers and staff from other agencies, and working with multi professional and multi-agency colleagues to support our children to achieve their best outcomes.Our wider service is extensive and varied and can offer opportunities to work with children who are technology dependant, children's palliative care, respite care for medically complex children, children's continuing care and medically complex children in our special school nursing. No two days are the same, but each day counts.You will work in collaboration with your colleagues to deliver end of life care to children at home, when this is their chosen place of death. Applications will be considered from learning disability and adult registered nurses who can demonstrate extensive experience working with children with complex physical health needs. Teaching, assessing and mentoring experience is essential.The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a wide range of clinical skills. Good communication skills are essential. Community experience is desirable but not essential. Problem solving, ability to work independently as well as working as part of a large and diverse team are all characteristics we are looking for in applicants.
