The post is for 10 programmed activities however part time applications or job shares will also be considered. We are always looking forward to developing and accommodation other interests into the department.The North Middlesex is a University Hospital dedicated to postgraduate teaching and training as well as undergraduate teaching of both local and international medical students. Candidates must be registered with the GMC and hold CCST or CCT in Geriatric and General (Internal) Medicine, or alternatively be within 6 months of obtaining CCT at the time of interview or CESR in Geriatric and General (Internal) Medicine. The appointee to this post is required to:Deliver day-to-day clinical care and leadership on the base geriatric medicine ward or our frailty unit (Amber Ward)Lead the daily board rounds and see new admissions to the base geriatric medicine ward.Develop current geriatric medicine practice and patient pathways within North Middlesex Hospital and in conjunction with Clinical Director to further develop the service in line with best practice.Lead and contribute to the development of clinical guidelines in geriatric medicine, audit and other key aspects of the clinical governance agenda.Show flexibility and undertake different appropriate clinical tasks at the request of the clinical manager, as the need arises.Actively participate in the Departments teaching programme and undertake supervision, teaching and training of medical trainees and other multi-professional staff, in line with guidance from the relevant Royal Colleges or specialty bodies.Actively participate in clinical guidelines development, audit and CPD.Opportunity to develop a speciality interest within or outside of Geriatric Medicine if the post holder has an area of expertise and it is in alignment with the service requirements of the Trust.
