Job summaryAre you an Occupational Therapist passionate about promoting the mental wellbeing of care home residents living with dementia? The County Dementia Outreach Service aims to improve the quality of care for individuals with dementia living in care homes. We are looking for a permanent, motivated Band 6 OT to join our experienced team of Clinicians supporting care home residents in the Mansfield & Ashfield locality working 2 days a week.Main duties of the jobCounty Dementia Outreach Service Occupational TherapistCommunity Mental Health Team for Older People.PermanentBand 615 hours/2 days per weekWe operate within a "virtual team" model with clinicians being based withincommunity mental health teams. We utilise dementia friendly, non- pharmacological, person-centred care approaches working collaboratively with our residents, their loved ones and care home staff to enhance wellbeing. Our remit is to reduce distress and behaviours of concern. You should have sound understanding of the relationship between physical health and its impact on mental health. You'll have excellent understanding of the Mental Capacity Act including DoLS. Thorough risk assessment skills and excellent communication skills are imperative to the role as is the confidence to challenge and raise quality concerns if required.
