What you’ll be doing?
Designing and implementing data flows to connect production and analytical systems and producing solution and data-flow diagrams and further documentation that facilitates governance, maintenance and utilisation by internal teams and ensuring proper change and release processes
Communicating with stakeholders to properly understand requirements, translating between technical and non-technical language
Supporting the development of data products based on varied data sources, using a range of storage technologies and access methods
Assessing current state and recommending appropriate tools and techniques to satisfy new requests
Re-engineering existing data flows to better support scalability
Consider non-functional requirements such as auditing and archiving of data
Supporting Data Quality and Master Data Management, and assisting BI developers and software engineers in effectively integrating and reporting on data with accuracy and reliability
Responding to support escalations from DevOps and technical colleagues and troubleshooting as required
Who are we looking for?
Proven experience as a Data Engineer
Extensive experience with cloud data platforms such as MS Azure and working with REST API’s
Experience of database normalisation
Able to translate technical concepts into non-technical language
Familiar with data governance principles and best practice to ensure data quality, security and compliance
Excellent communication skills
Strong team player with a can-do attitude, ambition to learn and also help others
Demonstrates a patient first approach at all times
