Job summaryAn exciting opportunity has arisen at the Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) unit at St Mary's for an experienced Sister or Charge Nurse to join our team as a Band 7 Deputy MatronSame Day Emergency Care at St Mary's is on the ground floor of the Paterson building. It consists of 15 consultation/assessment rooms, a procedure room, 8 reclining chairs and 3 trolleys. Opening hours are 0800 to 2200 Mon-Fri, 0800 to 2030 at weekends. The post holder would work Monday to Friday.We are looking for an exceptional candidate with experience in acute or emergency medicine. The post holder will provide specialist nursing care and support and deputise for their line manager in the management of their clinical speciality. This will involve dealing with complex situations and having to take appropriate action in a variety of settings. Post holder will actively participate in the academic activities of the directorate promoting the department and the trust at all times. In addition, post holder will be flexible in the approach to the clinical area and in providing cover for any area specified acting as professional role model providing direct and indirect clinical care, teaching and research.
