Job summaryThis exciting post provides an excellent leadership development opportunity for a dynamic and motivated professional (registered Nurse, Allied Health Professional, Social Worker) to work as deputy safeguarding lead at Royal Papworth Hospital. If successful, you will work closely with the Safeguarding lead and be supported to innovatively support the safeguarding agenda across the organisation, ensuring protection of vulnerable adults and children, with a particular focus on safeguarding education. The successful applicant would receive training to support their success in the role.This role is parttime (18.75 hours per week); flexible work pattern will be discussed and the opportunity for an informal visit can be arranged. We are solely hospital base, therefore the ability to drive is not essential for this role.Main duties of the job*The Deputy Safeguarding Lead will be responsible for the provision of safeguarding training to multi-professional staff with particular reference to the delivery and compliance of level 3 safeguarding training at Royal Papworth Hospital.*They will provide complex, advice and guidance to multi-professional staff regarding safeguarding in line with national and local safeguarding policies and evidence-based practice.*The deputy Safeguarding will work collaboratively with the Safeguarding Lead to influence, develop, and participate in policy development.*The role will lead on and contribute to enhancing the culture and practice in relation to safeguarding, ensuring statutory and locally agreed procedures are followed.*Deputise for the Safeguarding Lead as required.About usRoyal Papworth Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is the UK's leading heart and lung hospital, delivering care to more than 50,000 patients a year in its new state-of-the-art hospital in Cambridge.
