Job summaryBand 6 Job Advert - Diabetes Specialist NurseFull time Vacancy 37.5 hours per week.An opportunity has arisen for two Band 6 Diabetes Specialist Nurses to join the diabetes nurse team based within the North Manchester General Hospital.The diabetes services are based at North Manchester General Hospital. The service delivers diabetes care across both the acute hospital, outpatient and community settings. We work closely with consultants, community nurses, GP and practice nurses as well as the antenatal services.We provide specialist support and advise to people with Type 2 and Type 1 diabetes and diabetes in pregnancy's. This includes a busy pump service and antenatal support.Main duties of the jobWe require an experienced, motivated, dynamic nurse to join a friendly team of diabetes professionals in our Diabetes service. Effective communication skills are essential and being able to work both within a team environment and independently; organizing and prioritizing individual workload is crucial to this role. Experience managing diabetes care is essential as is a willingness to learn new skills appropriate to the post.The post will be suitable for nurses working within a diabetes specialist area or with diabetes patient's who may want to expand their skills, but would also be be suitable for an experienced nurse who can demonstrate a strong interest in diabetes and and is willing to develop their skills and knowledge in diabetes care.The post holder must be able to demonstrate excellent clinical, communication and interpersonal skills in order to maintain the excellent standards of diabetes care our patients expect.The role requires this professional to work within a variety of settings of inpatient and outpatient settings.About usMFT is one of the largest NHS Trust In England with a turnover of £2.6bn & is on a different scale than most other NHS Trusts.
