Job summaryTo be part of a team providing front line delivery of maintenance, defect & Breakdown response and Pre Planned maintenance tasks, Electrical technician Maintenances Craftsman.To complete new and alteration works within the post holders skills and experience both during and out with normal hours.The object of the job is to contribute to the delivery of effective, efficient and economical day to day maintenance, new and alteration works to ensure the safety of patients, staff and members of the public.Main duties of the jobSupport of maintenance supervisors work in accordance with the statutory requirements of Health Technical MemorandumsTo undertake relevant training to undertake and perform Competent or Authorised person dutiesAbility to maintain, test, diagnose, repair and calibrate advanced complicated and complex electrical and mechanical plant and equipmentTo communicate with individuals, teams of personnel or complete departments who may be affected by work procedures and processes being carried out.Work out of hours to carry out emergency repairs as required by management.Required to carry Trust communication devices to facilitate immediate contact when emergency re prioritisation of work is required i.e. fire alarms, Boiler plant, Lifts etc.Undertake essential repair works and general maintenance activities at the request of the Maintenance Officer.Undertake fault finding on complex Electrical LV, HV, Systems,Carry out planned preventative maintenance inspections and commissioning tests in accordance with Trust procedures.Responsible for undertaking Electrical installations in accordance with the Electrical regulations and HTM 0602, HTM 0603 and HTM 2022 Medical Gas Pipe Systems.Uses all relevant tools and equipment within safety guidelines as necessary for the completion of work.About usAs an organisation, Somerset NHS Foundation Trust offers employees a wide range of benefits including flexible working, NHS pension scheme, generous annual leave allowance and a commitment to career development.You will be eligible for our Blue Light Card and a wide range of NHS exclusive shopping & leisure discounts.We are proud of our skilled, diverse workforce and as an inclusive employer we welcome applications from all backgrounds.Working in Somerset enables you to enjoy the idyllic countryside, areas of outstanding beauty and stunning coastlines whilst still only being a stone's throw away from bustling city centres like Bristol, Bath and Exeter and only two hours away from London.There are excellent educational facilities in the area and, when compared to other regions, house prices are reasonable.Somerset offers the countryside and the cosmopolitan -- there is truly something for everyone!Job descriptionJob responsibilitiesPlease refer to the Job Description attached for a full list of Main Duties of this role.
