The Whittan Group is the largest manufacturer of steel storage products in the United Kingdom. Operating through a number of
market leading brands; we design, manufacture and install storage solutions for commercial and industrial environments in the UK
and Europe.
Due to internal promotion, we are looking for an ambitious and experienced finance professional to join our largest UK division as
Financial Controller- Link Apex. This is an exciting and rewarding role, providing the successful candidate with great commercial
exposure, autonomy and development, whilst performing a key role for our business.
Key Responsibilities:
* Ensuring the maintenance of an accurate and up to date financial ledger and supporting ledgers and records for all
transactions, P&L and balance sheet.
* Month end reporting of actuals vs budget/forecast.
* Managing year end audit
* Ensuring costings and pricing systems are accurate and up to date.
Required experience/skills/qualifications:
* Qualified accountant (ACA/CIMA/ACCA) with 3 years’ experience working in a medium sized finance department.
* Expert user of Microsoft Office programmes (Word, Excel and Outlook) with the ability to manipulate data efficiently and build
models to present results to finance and non-finance users.
* Experience of integrated systems including general ledger reporting in a manufacturing environment.
* Experience in managing month end processes including reporting, budgeting and forecasting.
* Resilience under pressure, with the ability to meet strict deadlines.
* Excellent communications skills and the ability to communicate with non-financial colleagues.
* The ability to challenge senior colleagues in a constructive and professional manner.
* The ability to write reports in a clear, concise manner that can be understood by non-financial colleagues.
Desirable experience/skills/qualifications:
* Experience of SAP
