Job summaryThe post holder will support the Fire Safety Manager in his duties and will be responsible for bringing the Trust's fire risk assessment program up to date and ensure compliance with statutory requirements. The risk assessment program needs to be kept up to date to ensure patient/staff safety and to prevent potential legal enforcement by the Fire Service.Main duties of the jobYour responsibilities will include ensuring that suitable fire risk assessments are in place for all premises where the Trust has a responsibility under the RR(FS)O 2005, development of fire risk assessment action plans and co-ordinating the Trust fire safety training program (including organising, preparing, and delivering training sessions).You will also be responsible for liaison with the Fire Service, attending and investigating fire calls (including recording and monitoring for trends), preparation of the quarterly fire safety report, incident report investigation, providing reports for and attendance at Divisional H&S meetings, spot checks on areas under a permit to work, arranging evacuation drills and other day to day duties as directed by the Fire Safety Manager.About usMFT is one of the largest NHS Trust In England with a turnover of £2.6bn & is on a different scale than most other NHS Trusts.
