Forklift Truck Operative - Nelson - £11.44 per hour
About the role
The purpose of this role is to support with incoming deliveries by loading and unloading goods and transporting these to the designated location through the use of a Forklift Truck. Throughout this you will be responsible for ensuring your compliance with food safety standard and health and safety standards and procedures.
What you will do:
Health and Safety / Food Safety:
• Ensuring the hygiene standards are at all times performed to BRC accreditation and to our own high GMP standards.
• Adhere to SOP and safety training.
• Have knowledge of company and statutory Health and Safety, security and emergency procedures.
Warehouse Yard Operation:
• Unload goods from incoming internal and external deliveries.
• Safely relocate deliveries to their designated storage areas through the use of a Forklift Truck.
• Ensure the Forklift Truck operating areas remain free from spillages and obstructions.
• Safely manoeuvre a Forklift Truck in a busy Yard environment in line with relevant Standard Operating Procedures.
• Consolidate partial pallets for incoming goods.
• Undertake daily checks on the Forklift Trucks to ensure they remain free from faults and damage.
• Follow clean as you go principles and adherence to good manufacturing practices at all times.
What you will need:
• Current Forklift Truck Operator licence.
• Ability to operate and control heavy machinery in a safe manner.
• Strong decision making and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Highly organised with a collaborative approach.
• Strong time management skills.
• Ability to work with flexibility and professionally.
