Location: Marischal College, Broad Street, Aberdeen Duration: Fixed Term, Full Time Roles that require PVG Membership Please note that with effect from 1 April 2023, where a role requires PVG membership, candidates will be required to meet the cost of the PVG membership. This applies only to roles with a full time equivalent salary of £30,000 and above. (Teaching roles and jobs at Grade 11 and above (currently £30,727 per annum / £15.97 per hour) The Council will pay for the PVG membership cost initially, either £18 for existing PVG scheme members, or £59 for non-members, and this cost will be deducted from an employee’s first FULL month’s salary payment. job purpose/about the role The graduate intern will work to support the development and delivery of the ABZ Pipeline, a pioneering approach to building Aberdeen's future workforce by creating a strategic programme of activities in our schools, linking education with industry to bring the curriculum to life and improving opportunities for our young people. The intern will work closely with colleagues in the City Development and Regeneration cluster and the central Education service, as well as with other partners to develop this Plan and ensure that it, along with the Regional Skills Strategy and Regional Economic Strategy align with delivery of the Local Outcome Improvement Plan and improve educational and employment outcomes for Aberdeen’s young people. This post provides an opportunity for a young person to play a key role in the development of the ABZ Pipeline, a pioneering approach to building Aberdeen's future workforce by creating a strategic programme of activities in our schools, linking education with industry to bring the curriculum to life and improving opportunities for our young people. Due to funding restrictions, this post is restricted to graduates who are resident in Aberdeen and who are not in education, employment, or training. The post holder needs to hold as a minimum: • Qualification at degree level. A qualification in a public policy, humanities, politics, sociology, or a business discipline would be advantageous. The postholder is able to demonstrate: • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to research and write documents at a high level for partners. • Working to set deadlines. • Ability to work and think for self – using own initiative • Good interpersonal skills • Good timekeeping • Ability to prioritise work • Presentation skills • Ability to work with others and take instruction About Us Please see Job Profile for further details.
