Job summaryWe are looking to recruit an experienced Product Manager or Lean Portfolio Manager to establish and lead these functions for our Electronic Health Record (EHR) - Epic.Following two years of a successful journey to adopt (SAFe) agile practices for workflow and software configuration delivery, we are now refreshing our end user governance model and seeking to adopt a more Product Mindset approach to gaining value from the EPR system.This will be a challenging role of leading the introduction of Product thinking to over 15 end users groups, coaching governance group chairs and end users, finding a way to work with non-agile teams and coaching the EHR team in solution breakdown and adapting the existing Agile Release Train to work with a Product function.Having a good understanding of the Product Mindset will be key and this role will have to balance the pace of change away from traditional ways of thinking, while keeping stakeholders engaged and ensuring a busy and oversubscribed development pipeline in optimised.Relationship management, flexible adherence to process, communication skills and strong passion to deliver value will be essential. This role will be key in steering the evolution of the Epic Electronic Patient Record at UCLH for the 12k staff, 14 sites and 1m+ patients per year it supports.Main duties of the jobYou do not need to have previous experience of the Epic system as training can be provided, however knowledge of it or another EHR is an advantage. A knowledge of, and ability to implement, coach and drive, agile and product methods will be key to success in this role. Next will be working with our adoption programme and business intelligence to evolve our system monitoring into an understanding for real work system use.From the start the role will need to coach stakeholders to work in a Product Mindset and shifting how the value streams prioritise work and measure benefit. Overtime, the role will need to lead the groups and the EHR Delivery Management team in the capability to horizon scan both business and Epic developments - helping redefine the product strategy, vison and roadmaps.Connecting with governance stakeholders and being able to influence the organisations leadership will form a key part of the role.
