Job summaryWe are looking for a casual/bank Health Care Assistant to assist our busy team. Hours will be flexible and up to full-time according to business need. Experience is essential; we need someone who is able to hit the ground running.Working under the supervision of the nursing team and strictly in accordance with specific practice guidelines and protocols, the healthcare assistant will assist the practice clinical team in the provision and delivery of prescribed programmes of patient care. The successful applicant will provide high quality nursing and clerical support to the practice team, ensuring high standards of care for our patients.Interviews for this role will be held on week commencing 22nd July.Main duties of the jobProvide individualised care as appropriate for each patient, ensuring patient privacy and dignity at all times.Take and record appropriate observations using EMIS, understanding when and why these are required. Inform the Nurse or GP of any concerns or above target recording as appropriate, using specific policy guidance.Safeguard vulnerable adults and children by reporting any concerns to Safeguarding Leads within the Practice.Be competent and capable of providing physical assessment as required at the request of PN/GP/ANP.To competently complete the requirements of the QOF templates in long term sickness management, including foot checks, venepuncture, BP, height, weight etc.Vaccinate children and adults within the remit of PSDs as required by immunisation policy.Safely administer B12 IM injections, disposing of equipment appropriately and as per guidance.Assist as required in the emergency management of patients.Assist within minor surgery clinics as required.Provide relevant patient information leaflets to the patient.Ensure that all PNs/GPs/ANPs are informed of any changes to the patients condition or observations as per guidance or as requested.About usBased in the coastal town of Blyth, Railway Medical Group is a busy practice with over 27000 patients.Situated in the beautiful county of Northumberland, we are within an ideal commuting distance of Newcastle, Whitley Bay and Morpeth.
