Job summaryWe are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and well motivated professional to join our Public Health Team in Cwm Taf Morgannwg, working across the three counties of Bridgend, Merthyr Tydfil and Rhondda Cynon Taf. You will be a Practitioner in a new strategic Health Protection Team which sits within the wider Public Health Team and will work closely with the CTM Health Protection Service that is delivered across the Health Board and Local Authorities in partnership.Main duties of the jobThe new Health Protection Service will work in partnership with other agencies including the Local Authorities and Public Health Wales to respond to emerging and existing health protection threats as required. Areas of work will include:Pandemic PlanningResponding to infectious disease outbreaksNational elimination programmes for blood borne virus and tuberculosisScreening of populations most at risk from specific diseasesImmunisations and vaccinations supportPrison healthAntimicrobial resistancanceEnvironmental health threatsAddressing health inequalities in health protection responseSupport to emergency planning including CBRN incidentsDelivery of training in health protection to staff and volunteersIt is envisaged that if successful you will be asked to focus on defined areas of work.The successful candidate will support the implementation and delivery of health protection programmes and responses in a range of different settings and with identified target groups in line with key local priorities, contributing to a healthier, happier and more active families in Cwm Taf Morgannwg.
