Job summaryRotherham Sexual Health ServiceBand 3 Health Care Support WorkerPart Time 13.5 hoursFixed term 12 monthsWe are looking to recruit a part- time enthusiastic, experienced and flexible Healthcare Support Worker to assist the multi-disciplinary team in delivering our Sexual Health Service. The post is to support the roll out of additional screening and pathway development for service users who are identified as potentially misusing substances.You will be based at our clinic at the Rotherham Hospital Central site, though there may be times when you will be required to work at our other sites across the service. You will provide Sexual Health Screening to our patients, chaperone members of our clinical team, and assist with a variety of clinical procedures; including microscopy and phlebotomy.The post-holder will be:Committed to a high standard of service deliveryConfident and calm under pressure when working in a busy clinical environmentAble to work flexibly and show willingness to work across locality clinicsIn possession of good communication skillsAble to work both independently and as part of a teamOpen minded in nature and not judgmentalAble to work in a highly confidential environmentTrained in phlebotomyThe successful candidate will be flexible to meet the needs of the service opening hours are Monday to Saturday, incorporating four late evenings until 7.30pm.Main duties of the jobTo carry out assigned tasks within the Rotherham Sexual Health Services involving direct patient care including newly acquired clinical skills, in support of the Registered General Nurse to enable him/her to maintain maximum patient contact.
