Job summary** Previous applicants need not apply**East Cheshire NHS trust are opening a purpose-built Community Diagnostic centre at the Congleton War Memorial Hospital site. We are developing and expanding our Cardio-respiratory department to support a wide range of diagnostic services. You will work on rotation at both the Congleton and Macclesfield sites to ensure you maintain competency in all areas and gain exposure to specialist testing, MDT and review sessions.You will have the opportunity to develop your existing skills and be supported and encouraged to undertake further training and education. You will take an active role in the training and support of medical colleagues and junior staff including those undertaking the ETP programme. You will be supported to lead audit and MDT meetings and encourage others to participate.The successful candidate will need to be a supportive team player and be able to adapt to situations quickly and manage their workload, prioritizing tasks according to urgency.You will need previous experience at band 6 level, a BSc in Clinical Physiology or equivalent, voluntary registration with the RCCP/AHCS and BSE Accreditation.***Please note this post may be closed early if a high number of applications are received***Hours per week: 37.5Main duties of the jobMaintain BSE accreditation and perform high quality diagnostic tests to recognised BSE standards and produce highly complex reports which directly impact on patient careSupport the delivery of specialist echo services including Transeosophageal and stress echocardiography.Contribute to maintaining and developing professional standards and service delivery within the departmentWork collaboratively and co-operatively with the Principal Physiologist and senior team to support service provisionOversee and prioritise own workload/referrals to meet service needs liaising with Principal Physiologist to address demand and capacity issuesTo undertake Transthoracic echocardiograms and produce high quality reports in line with British Society of echocardiography guidelines.Support training and development of physiology and medical staff.Actively participate in the ETP student education and development programme, providing practical and theoretical training as required.Candidates are encouraged to contact the department to organize an informal visit or further discussion around our exciting training and development opportunities.
