Job summaryAn exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and highly motivated housekeeper to support the Emergency Department at Ipswich Hospital. In autumn 2024 the Emergency Department are moving to a brand new, state of the art new build location!You will be an integral part of the team ensuring a high quality service to patients. Understanding the importance of maintaining confidentiality relating to information pertaining to patients is vital. Along with having excellent communication skills as the role includes liaising with Estates and Facilities, EME and working closely with both the nursing and OCS staff.As a Housekeeper, you will have the responsibility for maintaining high standards of cleanliness of clinical equipment specified and the cleanliness of areas where the equipment is stored and those areas that fall outside of the OCS Contract.You will be responsible for the co-ordination of all patient facilities in the Emergency Department ensuring a clean, safe and comfortable environment. As well assupporting the Department by ensuring equipment is well maintained and stock levels are closely monitored.Main duties of the jobTo ensure cleanliness of clinical equipment when not in patient use.To report any failure, repair or maintenance needed to any equipment and to arrange maintenance to be undertaken.To restock equipment as required.To establish a pleasant and welcoming environment for patients, visitors and staff.To assist in monitoring and maintaining cleaning standards on the ward highlighting concerns to Lead Nurse if necessary.About usWe are ESNEFT and we provide hospital and community health services to almost one million people across east Suffolk and north Essex.
