Job summaryLiverpool University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust wishes to appoint a Junior Clinical Fellow in Urology initially until 4th February 2025 with possible extension for a further 6 months depending on performance.This exciting post offers specialist training in diagnostic and core urological procedures and is well suited to trainees who have completed core surgical training wishing to increase their urology experience prior to Urology Specialty Training. Applicants are required to be fully registered with the General Medical Council and have membership of the Royal College of Surgeons or equivalent.Main duties of the jobThis exciting post offers advanced specialist training in all areas of Urological surgery and is well suited to trainees wishing to extend their period of training before taking up a Consultant post.The successful candidate will participate in all aspects of the Units clinical work including clinics, operating sessions, Multi Disciplinary Meetings and ward rounds. Over the year it is expected that the successful candidate will perform the full range of Urological procedures for both benign and non-benign disease.The successful candidate will participate in all aspects of the unit's clinical work including outpatient clinics, diagnostic procedures, multi-disciplinary team meetings, day case and inpatient operating as well as emergency care and ward rounds. The clinical activities will be under the supervision of consultant urologists. Outpatient clinical activities will be on the Aintree site whereas inpatient and on call activities will be on the Royal site.The successful candidate will contribute to the Urology middle grade on call rota which is based at Aintree Hospital.
