Job summarySt Johns House Medical Centre has an exciting opportunity for three new team members to join our established, friendly and dedicated hard working team.We are a large practice, working from purpose-built modern premises in St Johns . We are looking for a flexible, hard working and reliable people who enjoy contact with the general public and are able to offer excellent communication and customer service skills.It is a varied and interesting role, covering medical reception and administrative duties. Ideally you should have experience of working as a receptionist, within a healthcare setting and be educated to GCSE level or equivalent .However, full training will be given.The three positions of 12 hours (PT) per week with set days and set hours Monday to Friday are detailed below:Position 1Wednesday 8:00-14:00Friday 12:30-18:30Position 2Tuesday 8:00-14:00Thursday 12:30-18:30Position 3Tuesday 12:30-18:30Thursday 8:00-14:00If you would like an informal discussion about the roles, please contact Practice Manager Charlotte on 01905 740001.The interview date for these roles will be Wednesday 3rd July 2024.Previously applicants need not apply.Main duties of the jobMedical reception including answering the telephone and speaking with patients face to face to assist patients with queries.You will work with a team and rotate duties either in the call centre or on the main reception desk.Daily duties such as: Booking appointments face to face and over the phone, including signposting to ensure the patient is booked with the right person, in the right place at the right time.Receiving and recording requests for home visits, district nurse visits, telephone consultations and taking messages.Helping to assist with general enquiries.Answer incoming calls in a timely manner as per practice protocol.Ensuring everything is set up for the day.The above list of duties is not exhaustive and may be subject to change as deemed necessaryFull training will be given.About usWe are a large, friendly, forward thinking team. Our clinical team is made up of doctors, pharmacists, advanced clinical practitioners, practice nurses, pharmacists and health care assistants.Our administrative team is made up of secretaries, receptionists, read coders and scanners.We all strive to do the best for our patients and give excellent customer service.Job descriptionJob responsibilitiesJob Responsibilities:Ensure an effective and efficient reception service is provided to patients and any other visitors to the practice.To have a thorough knowledge of appointment procedures and adapt to changes.Deal with all general enquiries, explain procedures and make new and follow-up appointments.Using your own judgement and communication skills, ensure that patients requiring urgent medical attention are offered appropriate and timely appointments.Explain practice arrangements and formal requirements to new patients and those seeking temporary cover, and ensure procedures are completed.Receive and make telephone calls as required.
