Job summaryTo provide a confidential office management and medical secretarial service to the consultants, specialist nurses and junior medical staff within NeurologyMain duties of the jobProvide the first point of contact for the department and dealing with queries, as appropriate, or delegating where possible to other staff in the department.Identify the need for clinic cancellations following request for leave from clinicians, and preparation of relevant paperwork, ensuring that all modifications and changes to clinics are in line with 6 week cancellation time frame.Providing management of the local office and ensuring prioritisation of workload to meet deadlines and flow of correspondence, as necessary. This will include ensuring the timely turnaround of outpatient letters, clinic results and other correspondence, as appropriate.Act on all telephone calls received, taking message and resolving queries, as necessary.
