Job summary1 x 37.5 hours permanent postWe have an exciting opportunity for a Band 3 Medical Administrator/Secretary to join our friendly General Surgery Medical Secretarial team within the Division of Surgery. This role is ideal for a candidate who is compassionate and would like to make a positive difference to patient experience. Whilst not a hands on patient role this position enables the post holder to speak with patients on a daily basis and improve hospital waiting times by working effectively and efficiently.Main duties of the jobThe Medical Secretary role is a highly diverse, demanding but rewarding role, working as part of a supportive and dynamic team. The role entails supporting your own allocated clinicians on a day-to-day basis, as well as undertaking tasks with the wider team. It is essential that the successful applicant has the ability to type to a high standard and a desire to develop and learn new skills and competencies.Applicants must be organised, a team player, have the ability to work under their own initiative and be able to prioritise a competing workload. Whilst experience in a medical secretary role is preferred, it is not essential.
