Job summaryThe Diagnostics Recovery & Transformation Programme is the largest single investment programme in the NHS in terms of capital and revenue combined.The programme consists of a national team and seven regional teams with further resource devolved to ICS and diagnostic network level and is likely to be one of the most devolved programmes in NHSE.The National Specialty Adviser is responsible for providing clinical advice to the Diagnostics Recovery & Transformation Programme as well as professional advice and support in the development of strategy and policy relating to the Diagnostics programme.Main duties of the jobThe post holders will support senior leaders by: -Provide advice and leadership for neurosciences covering neurophysiology and vision science.Identify operational productivity improvement opportunities and develop products to support this and inform suitable metrics to measure delivery.Ensure that the projects remain aligned to NHSE and system wide objectives.Secure buy-in and remove barriers to delivery, including working with trusts and relevant national bodies and societies.Represent the Diagnostics Recovery & Transformation Programme in sector events, presentations, meetings and joint work with partner organisations.Where appropriate form effective internal relationships and close working with the Getting It Right First Time and Digital programmes to ensure that work is aligned.Support the Programme to maintain project governance, control and accountability.About usIn April 2023, NHS England, NHS Digital, and Health Education England merged to create a new, single organisation to lead the NHS in England.
