Job summaryAn exciting opportunity has arisen within the administration team at Charing Cross Hospital's urology department. The post holder will be primarily responsible for co-ordinating and managing the Benign urology clinics and thus will be required to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team alongside Consultants, registrars, nurses, other pathway co-ordinators within the Urology Service.The post holder will work closely with the relevant team members to ensure that patient pathways are co-ordinated effectively, patients are booked into the appropriate clinics and that a high quality customer service is provided.The successful candidate will be highly motivated and organised with an ability to prioritise and problem solve in a busy working environment. Communication is key for this role and it will be expected that the post holder can demonstrate the ability to communicate with patients and staff across all disciplines. The successful candidate should have some knowledge of cancer waiting time targets.Main duties of the jobImplement and maintain an efficient internal system and process to ensure the outpatient access target is met for all new referrals to the Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust.Monitor and review patient care and/or treatment progress using the Patient Tracking List in line with Trust and local policies.Co-ordinate and provide administrative support to the relevant teams to ensure that all the relevant paperwork and clinical information is available.Resolving patient queries over the telephone, by email and in person on a daily basis, communicating tactfully and professionallyProviding administrative support to the wider multidisciplinary team, including medical, nursing and administrative colleaguesAttending weekly the MDT and post MDT wash-up meetingsAttending the In house PTL with the service support manager and admin manager to review the Prostate PTL to ensure that the patients diagnostic and outpatient appointments are booked.About usAt Imperial College Healthcare you can achieve extraordinary things with extraordinary people, working with leading clinicians pushing boundaries in patient care.
