Job summaryWe are currently recruiting Pharmacy Dispensers and welcome applications on a full and part time basis. There are Permanent and Fixed Term posts.You will join our rotational team based at Sunderland Royal Hospital or South Tyneside District Hospital and be able to work across our three Pharmacies and support our manufacturing teams. Our Inpatient pharmacy supplies pharmaceutical items to wards and departments across our various sites and supports the medicine management team. Our Outpatient pharmacy dispenses prescriptions to patients attending outpatient clinics within the three outpatient sites operated by our dispensing partner CHoICE. Our Manufacturing team aseptically prepare medicines for individual patients.There will be an opportunity to express an interest in working within clinical trials, as one of the full-time posts will be based within the Pharmacy Clinical Trials Service. This will involve working closely with the Trust Research Teams to help deliver clinical trials across the organisation.It is essential that applicants have NVQ level 2 in Pharmacy Services and have some experience of working in a busy Pharmacy. Training in manufacturing can be provided for those applicants with a community pharmacy background. Accredited checking is a desirable but not an essential as training will be givenMain duties of the jobCandidate should have achieved NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Pharmacy services, you would be expected to undertake an accredited checking course after 6 months in post.The post is rotational including South Tyneside and Sunderland Outpatient pharmacies.This role operates across a shift pattern which includes Monday Friday 8.30am 5.00pm, weekend working 10.00am-18.00pm and late night 11.30am-20.00pm / 9.30am-18.00pm, this is variable depending upon which dispensary you are assigned to. You would be expected to be part of a late night, weekend, and bank holiday rotas.We work in conjunction with the pharmacy education team, and we assist with training of new staff which you would be expected to undertake.
