Job summaryDue to the promotion of the previous postholder's, we have an exciting opportunity for a qualified and registered Accuracy Checking Pharmacy Technician to join our pharmacy ward based team. The post will be responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient and effective patient care.We are a department that is committed to the extended role of technicians, and you will gain experience in all aspects of hospital pharmacy practice in our busy department. We offer excellent in house training where you will be supported and encouraged to further develop your skills. Your duties will include dispensary services, patient counselling, ward based work and accuracy checking.You must possess excellent communication and organisational skills in order to provide efficient and safe pharmacy services for patients.You will be a qualified pharmacy technician with BTEC/NVQ3 in pharmaceutical sciences or recognised equivalent and a BTEC accuracy checking qualification or equivalent. In addition to this you should have current professional registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council.Hours per week: 37.5 (part time also considered)Main duties of the jobAs a ward based Pharmacy Technician, you will:Be an effective and proactive team member of our team.Be responsible for the supply of medication to patients.Complete Medicines reconciliation for our newly admitted patients.Provide medicines management support to wards.Management and processing of discharge prescriptions at ward level.To complete accuracy checking both at ward level and on designated slots within the dispensary.Be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council.Support service improvement and becoming an integral part of the team.About usWhether you are just starting out in your career or are looking to use your skills and experience in a new role, East Cheshire NHS Trust is the right employer for you.
