Job summaryThe post-holder will be working with the rest of the team at Beechwood Medical Centre. You will answer the telephone and liaise with patients face to face. The main role of the position is to deal with patients face to face at the reception desk. The hours are quite specific in order to cover the site for all of the hours we are open. If you have worked in general practice or primary care before that would be useful but it is not essential all of the training will be given.Main duties of the jobThe following are the core responsibilities of the Receptionist. There may be, on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will depend on factors such as workload and staffing levels as directed by the Practice Operations Manager:a. To work on the downstairs reception desk supporting patients in a face to face situation.b. To use the telephone to call patients and take inbound calls from patients when not busy working on the front desk.c. Book, change and cancel appointments for patients in line with current arrangements.d. Deal with things at the front desk, like prescription requests, patient registrations, patient signposting and carrying out duties as requested by the Practice Operations Manager, Business Manager or Partnerse. To work with other team members and support the practice operationally. The bulk of the reception work will be on the reception desk dealing with patients in a face to face situation.The hours for this role are very specific in order to cover the surgery for the hours we are open:Monday - 2.00pm - 6.30pmTuesday - 2.00pm - 6.30pmWednesday - 2.00pm - 6.30pmThursday - 2.00pm - 6.30pmFriday 12.00pm - 6.30pmTotal weekly hours - 24.5You MUST be able to work these hoursAbout usThis job description is intended to provide an outline of the key tasks and responsibilities only.
