JOB TITLE: RESIDENTIAL PROPERTY PARALEGAL - Hybrid LOCATION: Manchester City Centre HOURS OF WORK: 9 am – 5.30 pm, Monday to Friday BENEFITS: 25+stat holidays – Death in Service + Pension + additional bens Due to organic growth and continued success, our client is looking for a Residential Conveyancing Paralegal to join their team in Manchester City Centre. They are looking for a bright, motivated, organised Conveyancing Paralegal to join a busy residential development team. So, if you are in the process of studying for your LLM or LPC or if you already possess the qualification, we will welcome your CV. The role will suit someone looking to work in a fast-paced and demanding environment on some exciting projects in Manchester and the NW. This is a hands-on role! The successful candidate will need to be organised and efficient and able to work well in a team environment. The role is client-facing, and therefore, the candidate must have excellent written and oral communication skills. This position offers the opportunity to join an established and progressive law firm and develop your career with a view to a training contract, depending on your performance. The successful candidate will also benefit from excellent training and development. JOB DESCRIPTION: Primary daily activities will include working with developer clients and dealing with sales of units on residential schemes and usual tasks are as follows: • Assisting a solicitor with caseloads of Residential cases on the development side of the property team, from instruction to completion • Drafting contract packs received from developers/agents and issuing to buyers’ solicitors. • Reporting regularly to developer clients with progress reports/deadlines. • Dealing with replies to enquiries under supervision from a solicitor. • Dealing with exchanges and all pre and post exchange administration. • Taking receipt of deposit payments from buyers’ solicitors and dealing with payments out to clients/funder • Dealing with pre completion requirements including drafting financial statements, drafting Practical Completion Notices, dealing with funder’s enquiries, setting up the file for completion and dealing with post completion matters. • Dealing with Part Exchange purchases including reviewing title, reporting to client, raising enquiries and dealing with property due diligence • General administration, i.e. photocopying and filing In addition to unit sales, there will be opportunities to work on: • residential sale and purchases • Refinance matters, including investment portfolios and development finance matters. PERSON SPECIFICATION: The skills required to undertake the above job description are as follows:- • Minimum experience of 6 months in Property, either Commercial Residential Conveyancing • Legal background, with a knowledge of the conveyancing process of sales and purchase transactions; • Good IT skills, i.e. as Word and Outlook; • Excellent communication skills; • Good telephone manners; • Ability to work to tight deadlines; • Ability to plan and prioritise work; • Self-motivated; • Ability to work in a planned and organised way, but can multitask • Professional approach • Knowledge of legal Case Management systems.
