Job summaryAs a Security Officer you'll be a key member of the hospital team ensuring that staff and visitors remain safe and the building remains secure. You will be responsible for lock down of the hospital, attend security incidents and, where necessary, take appropriate measures to ensure the protection of staff and patients.Who we are:Our key priority is ensuring the safety of all patients, staff and visitors when they attend our hospitals and we provide a reassuring and professional approach in difficult situations when they need us most. We offer advice, support and training on security matters and always look to defuse and deescalate situations to achieve the best outcome. We respond to all security incidents, liaise with emergency services personnel and are a key link when escalating in the event of a major incident.You'll join an experienced team operating in Basingstoke and Winchester hospitals and offer advice and support to Andover War Memorial Hospital. You'll join a shift rotation working 12 hour shifts covering days, nights, weekends and bank holidays in a 4 on 4 off pattern.Main duties of the jobProvide a point of contact for advice on security matters and actively promote a pro-security culture within the organisationAttend security incidents and, where necessary, take appropriate measures to ensure the protection of staff and patients.Complete detailed incident reports and follow up on police and court actions.Report crime to the police.Manage car park issues and where necessary apply warning noticesSupport Portering at night.About usAbout the trust:The vision at Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is to provide outstanding care for every patient.
