Job summary37.5 hoursYou will work in a highly pressured environment to provide a professional and efficient booking service for patients utilising the Endoscopy Service. You will be expected to ensure patients are booked in adherence to local and national access policies and will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, supporting other team members to deliver the access targets and a patient focused booking service.Main duties of the jobTo establish, implement and monitor a range of administrative processes and systems to support the patients attendance to Endoscopy by allocating dates and data entry.Ensuring that patients are seen in chronological order and within specified local and national target waiting times and waiting list policies.Communicate appointment and admission related information to patients and carers.Maintain patient confidentiality.To assist in creating an environment which is patient focussed, and maintains their dignity and privacy.Receive and action enquiries, verbal and written, promptly and efficiently from a wide range of people using judgement and analysis to resolve any problems within the parameters of the role, referring complex queries to line manager as appropriate.To plan patients onto lists for consultants/medical staff in line with the agreed booking rules, ensuring operating list/session capacity is maximised, taking into account waiting times and individual patient requirement.Be responsible for contacting patients to offer and agree dates and monitor attendance/non-attendance to relevant clinic.Informing senior managers of any problems as appropriate.To support management of the waiting list in a timely and accurate manner.To receive and action telephone enquiries from wards, patients, general practitioners and hospital colleagues.To provide cover for for other duties deemed appropriate within the department.About usThe Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust is a combined acute and community Trust serving a population of over 260,000 with over 4,500 staff.
