Job summaryThis is an exciting opportunity for an experienced CBT clinician who would like to develop leadership skills alongside clinical work withinBrent Talking Therapies. You must have good knowledge of NHS Talking Therapies, clinical experience, demonstrate high standards of communication skills, problem solving, and good professional working relationships with clinicians, service users, carers, and professionals.Candidates must have current BABCP therapist accreditation as an essential requirement in order to apply for this role.Main duties of the jobThe postholder will provide clinical supervision and line management to CBT trainees and qualified CBT therapists, support the senior team with duty responsibilities, assessment supervision, hold a clinical caseload and receive their own clinical supervision.We would invite the postholder to develop their interest and act as a champion within a special interest pathway, such as, community outreach, perinatal, young adults, wellbeing, long-term health conditions, and older adults.The post holder will contribute to the ongoing development of Brent Talking Therapies in line with national targets.The catchment area of the post is the London borough of Brent. The main hub for the service is based at Fairfields House in Kingsbury and there is a satellite hub at Bell House in Willesden Green. You will be required to work across both hubs and in other parts of the borough, e.g. GP surgeries and community settings.We operate an agile working policy where staff combine remote working and being on-site to deliver face-to-face appointments and other service commitments that require a hub-based presence. The post-holder may be required to work at any times between 8am and 8pm on weekdays including an evening clinic as required by the service. We are looking to recruit our future leaders and support our service by providing opportunities for career development in a supportive team.As an NHS Trust we strongly encourage and support vaccination as this remains the best way to protect yourself, your family, your colleagues, and of course our service users when working within our healthcare settings.Job descriptionJob responsibilitiesTo provide specialist assessments of clients referred to the Brent Talking Therapies based upon the appropriate use, interpretation and integration of complex data from a variety of sources including self-report measures, rating scales, direct and indirect structured observations and semi-structured interviews with clients, family members and others involved in the clients care.To formulate and implement plans for the formal psychological treatment and/or management of a clients mental health problems, based upon an appropriate conceptual framework of the clients problems, and employing methods based upon evidence of efficacy.To integrate with the psychological formulation specialist knowledge of complex mental health disorders.To provide specialist psychological advice guidance and consultation to other professionals contributing directly to service user formulation, diagnosis and treatment plan.To undertake risk assessment and risk management for individual clients and to provide advice to other professions on psychological aspects of risk assessment and risk management.To communicate in a skilled and sensitive manner, information concerning the assessment, formulation and treatment plans of clients under their care and to monitor progress during the course of both uni-and multi-disciplinary care.To provide expertise, advice and support to facilitate the effective and appropriate provision of psychological care by all members of the Brent Talking Therapies, where appropriate.To be responsible for the coordination and management of waiting lists.To receive regular clinical professional supervisionTo provide supervision to qualified low and high intensity therapists and other talking therapies staff as appropriateTo contribute to the development, evaluation and monitoring of the Brent Talking Therapies operational policies and services, through the deployment of professional skills in research, service evaluation and audit. This includes monitoring of KPIs.To advise both service and professional management on those aspects of the service where psychological and/or organisational matters need addressing.
