Job summaryWe are looking for a motivated and ambitious individual to join our Crisis Resolution Team. We provide urgent care and support to people in Worcestershire who are experiencing a mental health crisis. We are a dynamic and responsive team who strive to continuously develop and adapt to the needs of patients in Worcestershire providing compassionate and trauma-informed care in the best interests of our patients. The team conduct a variety of work including rapid and comprehensive mental health assessments and bespoke crisis interventions.Working in the Crisis Resolution Team will bring you variation every shift and provide regular opportunities for CPD and further career progression opportunities are supported. Supervision and reflective practice are prioritised to ensure the wellbeing of staff is optimised. We promote flexible working to support the balance between work and home life.This is a full-time post, but we would be flexible to offering fewer hours for the right candidate. The shift pattern consists of days and waking nights over a 7-day period including bank holidays working x3 days a week. The service we provide is critical to those in a mental health crisis and helps enable specialist support from the onset.As part of your role as a Senior Crisis Clinician you will provide direct patient care to informal patients and patients detained under section 136 of MHA 1983 as well as telephone support and advice to patients, carers, and professionals. You will complete rapid and comprehensive mental health assessments, identifying the most appropriate support and care pathway someone needs, ensuring the least restrictive options are always optimised. You will be responsible for the co-ordinating and implementation of brief interventions.You will work as part of a team but also make autonomous decisions, assessing the needs and risks of individuals in crisis. This will include working with individuals who are experiencing an acute relapse or first presentation of a severe mental illness, those who present with complex emotional needs and high risk of self-harm and suicide.We take referrals from a range of sources including police and paramedics as well as self-referrals via the local 24-hour Mental Health Helpline. We aim to triage referrals and respond as soon as possible to ensure seamless, responsive care and support.As part of your role, you will support and guide junior staff and students.
