You will be supported by a range of experienced technical and clinical pharmacy team members to develop your professional knowledge and skills allowing progression to a band 8a position.There is also the opportunity to develop your post-graduate knowledge in Technical Services through completion of the Pharmaceutical Technology and Quality Assurance course.A generous relocation allowance of up to £8000 can be offered subject to the successful candidate meeting terms and conditions.For a taste of what it is like to work within our team at Salisbury please visit:https://youtu.be/cV9rjQwR1j0Main duties of the jobResponsibilities and DutiesTo be operationally responsible for the day-to-day delivery of the aseptic dispensing service to ensure effective and safe use of resources, to establish capacity, and the timely preparation of clinically appropriate medication.To assist in the organisation and management of the aseptic services to ensure that products are fit for their intended use, resources are used effectively and there is timely delivery of products.To assist the Aseptic Services Accountable Pharmacist in the provision of professional expertise to the aseptic unit to ensure compliance with Section 10 Exemption and National Standards (QAAPs) to ensure provision of a safe aseptic service.To implement training in aseptic preparation in order that staff are fully equipped to undertake appropriate aseptic work in a safe, consistent and efficient mannerTo undertake project/development work for the aseptic dispensing service and wider cancer care pharmacy team to ensure continued development to meet appropriate standards.To be responsible for proposing policy or service changes, and implement agreed changes, some of which may impact on other disciplines, to ensure service continues to develop and meet appropriate standards, thereby contributing to improving quality.On completion of key objectives and on progression to band 8a, you will be responsible to the line manage an assigned Band 6 Pharmacist.About usSalisbury NHS Foundation Trust (SFT) is an innovative hospital with a proud heritage and over 250 years of experience behind us. This is currently a 1 in 8 week rota and includes working one bank holiday per year.The pharmacy service covers over 20 in-patient wards (500 beds) which includes a full range of medical wards (cardiology, endocrinology, respiratory, elderly care, acute medicine) surgical wards (orthopaedics, general surgery and our award winning Burns and plastics unit) and the regional Duke of Cornwall spinal unit. We have a dedicated Cancer Care Ward and a busy Day Case unit as well as an onsite Hospice.
