Job summaryAn exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit a Band 7 Physiotherapist in to the care of the elderly team across Northumberland.The post holder will work with Principle Physiotherapist for Care of the elderly and therapists within the team.The post holder will lead a team of Physiotherapists, on a day to day basis, providing high quality physiotherapy to elderly patients and also provide a service to the Neuro-out patient clinic and day hospital service. The role will involve daily MDT working therefore experience of working as part of a MDT is essential.As the COTE service is provided across multiple sites in Northumberland it is essential that the post holder can travel between sites to support the wider team as required.This post may require assessment centre and/or psychometric testing.Main duties of the jobSuccessful applicants will provide leadership and day to day organisation of the in-patient elderly Physiotherapy service at Berwick and Alnwick. The post holder will provide expert assessment, diagnosis and treatment of patients and support robust discharge planning.Applicant must demonstrate excellent communication skills with Multidisciplinary Teams and peers. Applicants should have experience in supervision, education and training of more junior staff and be involved in student education, research and audit.Applicants must provide evidence of continuous professional development and post graduate training related to neurology and elderly care.
